Dr. Atif Abdelmageed is a physician, international leader, and strategic consultant with a professional career spanning more than thirty-five years. His experience covers medicine and humanitarian action, crisis and disaster management, leadership of international organizations, human resource development, and capacity building for young people and institutions. This diverse journey has given him extensive practical experience in complex environments, multicultural team leadership, and transforming field challenges into actionable plans and effective responses.

He began his professional career in medicine after earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Juba. His interests later expanded into emergency response, humanitarian action, and disaster management. He subsequently earned a master’s degree in Disaster and Refugee Management and a Ph.D. in Crisis and Disaster Management, along with specialized qualifications in emergency medicine, disaster preparedness, humanitarian action, international law, leadership, professional training, and coaching.

He worked with the World Health Organization as an Emergency Officer in Sudan and as a consultant in Yemen. In these roles, he contributed to health emergency response planning, risk mapping, epidemiological analysis, humanitarian appeals, and the capacity building of professionals and volunteers in emergency response and humanitarian assistance. He also participated in rescue and disaster response missions in Sudan, Yemen, Indonesia, Iran, and Mozambique, dealing directly with complex humanitarian situations involving floods, earthquakes, natural disasters, refugees, and displaced communities.

In international leadership, he served as Regional Director of the World Organization of the Scout Movement for the Arab Region, Secretary-General of the Arab Scout Organization, and a member of the senior management team of the World Organization of the Scout Movement for fourteen years. During this period, he supervised the development and implementation of regional strategies, supported national plans across nineteen Arab countries, and managed resources, budgets, and relations with governments, donors, and international partners.

He also led extensive efforts to develop youth programs, improve the quality of leadership training, and strengthen the capabilities of national and regional institutions and professionals. He contributed to organizing and managing numerous international conferences, forums, and major events, while helping organizations strengthen their visibility and partnerships with governments, international institutions, and civil society organizations.

He currently leads International ARTDO as Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the organization’s strategic direction, professional training and accreditation programs, international membership development, conferences, and opportunities for cooperation among institutions and experts worldwide.

His advisory work extends to international business development, strategic consulting, leadership, human resources, healthcare, and climate action. He has served on several international advisory boards and councils, providing guidance on growth strategies, partnership development, market expansion, risk reduction, and institutional performance improvement.

His consulting approach combines strategic vision with practical field experience. He does not view crises merely as unexpected events, but as tests of an organization’s ability to plan, coordinate, make decisions, learn, and restore stability. His work therefore focuses on building systems and capabilities that enable institutions to anticipate risks, improve their response, and maintain operational continuity.

As an internationally certified trainer, he has delivered programs in leadership, team building, emotional intelligence, negotiation, problem-solving, coaching, and leadership development. He has conducted numerous programs, sessions, and workshops in different countries, drawing on his experience in leading international teams, inspiring young people, and directing volunteer initiatives.

He also possesses strong expertise in negotiation and conflict resolution, international event management, social impact measurement, and the preparation of awareness materials and training curricula. His work combines strategic thinking with a deep understanding of human and cultural realities, enabling him to communicate effectively with leaders, institutions, and teams operating in diverse environments.

His career has been recognized with more than thirty awards, medals, and honors from national, regional, and international institutions for his contributions to leadership, youth development, volunteer work, public service, human resource development, and humanitarian response.

Dr. Atif Abdelmageed represents a model of a consultant who combines knowledge, experience, leadership, and humanitarian service. His extensive career enables him to help institutions develop their strategies, strengthen their leaders, manage risks, improve crisis readiness, build more effective partnerships, and achieve sustainable institutional and humanitarian impact.
